Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia is a chronic disease characterized by body aches, widespread pain, depression, anxiety and more. Early on, most fibromyalgia patients are sent for psychiatric care. And oftentimes, they’re quickly referred to rheumatology specialists.

Envita has a completely different and refreshing approach that has successfully helped and continues to help our patients. By treating the whole patient and addressing the numerous imbalances, (including toxins, heavy metals, infections, immunity, hormonal and brain chemistry) Envita’s patients discover a new quality of life that goes beyond merely taking medications. You can get comprehensive fibromyalgia treatment by treating the cause and not just the symptoms with the help of Envita Medical Centers.

Our Fibromyalgia Approach

Conventional medicine has struggled for some time with a fibromyalgia diagnosis. In some cases, patients are told they have fibromyalgia when they really have an infection that is easily treated. In other cases, patients are told they have an infection or other dysfunction when they really have fibromyalgia. Correct diagnosis is the first and most difficult hurdle for those who suffer from the disease.

Fibromyalgia is a complex disease involving multisystem disturbances, but it is primarily characterized by widespread pain in the body and enhanced pain sensitivity. Both genetics and environmental factors can a play a role in the disease, as well as traumatic illness or injury, autoimmune dysfunction, infections, environmental toxins, and other causes.

The characteristic symptomologies of fibromyalgia include: widespread chronic body pain for at least 3 months, flu-like pain that can be severe and constant, chronic exhaustion, headaches, recurring infection, muscle stiffness and pain, sleep disorders, specific tender points on the body, cognitive “fog”, depression, and irritable bowel syndrome.

Fibromyalgia afflicts 8 to 12 million people in the United States alone, and while it can affect all age groups and both genders, it predominately affects women between the ages of 35 and 54. For patients who suffer with fibromyalgia, the degree and location of pain can change from day to day. In extreme cases, fibromyalgia can cause total debilitation.

Because the disease can present itself differently and in different degrees, treatment of the disease must be tailored to the individual needs of the patient. At Envita, we take a personalized approach to medicine, and we provide our patients with customized treatment plans. Our program focuses not only on relieving the symptoms of fibromyalgia, but also on addressing the underlying dysfunctions and causes of the disease.

Conventional medical professionals often do not test for or examine all the possible causative factors of fibromyalgia. In part, this is because few conventional medical professionals have experience with the disease, or even recognize it as a prevalent chronic disease. Even if they might recognize the disease, most medical professionals are not equipped to treat it.

At Envita, we have been treating fibromyalgia for almost a decade. We examine all possible causative factors to provide our patients with accurate diagnosis and treatment. As part of our Disease Solutions Program®, we combine the best of natural and conventional medicine to deliver cutting edge and one-of-a-kind therapies to our patients.
