Personalized Drug Design for Comprehensive Cancer Care

At Envita Medical Centers, a world-class integrative center for precision oncology, we develop personalized drugs tailored to each patient’s individual genetic needs. Cancer is a disease of genetic mutations, signaling, and immune system evasion, and these factors vary from person to person even with the same type and stage of cancer, pointing to the need for customization.

Our custom-built medicines target each patient’s specific cancer cell factors, based on the findings of our detailed ultra analytes testing, which identifies genomic, immunotherapy, and key algorithm analytes linked to growth factors and causes of cancer growth and spread. This personalized precision oncology approach goes far beyond standard chemotherapy, radiation, or surgery alone.

Using this information, our physicians custom-build medications with the highest probability of enhancing tumor kill while strengthening the patient’s overall immune system.

Envita’s in-depth, real-time ultra analytes testing reveals each patient’s key unique cancer drivers. Armed with this information, we custom-build medications with the highest probability of enhancing tumor kill while strengthening the overall immune system of each individual patient. In our clinical experience, both these aspects are crucial for holistic cancer treatment, because only a robust immune system can prevent cancer recurrence or metastasis/spread, helping you progress towards the goal of long-term remission.

With such levels of personalization, we have carved out a niche for our patients to achieve next level targeting and treatment.

With the aim of holistic recovery, our expert physicians, pharmacists, and chemists, customize medications at our in-house pharmacy specific to our patients’ needs. Our goal is to help in improving patients’ quality of life, increasing longevity, and reducing toxicity. Our chemists work alongside pharmacists and doctors to combine the latest in conventional medicine innovation with advanced natural therapies to optimize treatment efficacy for our patients.

The Need for Customization

Envita’s Ultra Analytes Liquid Biopsy analyses CTCs (Circulating Tumor Cells) in the patient’s blood samples to unravel each patient’s individual biomarkers. There may not be commercially available drugs to target all biomarkers, immune system, and metabolic and genomic drivers of each patient’s cancer which is why our in-house pharmacy is crucial for developing treatments for these targets.

Biomarkers

Biomarkers are attributes of cancer cells containing specific chemotherapy and immunotherapy targets. By harvesting the latest biomarker information through our extensive genomic analysis, our expert physicians can identify actionable targets for chemotherapeutic agents, adjuvant therapies, and immunotherapies your body is most likely to respond to.

This critical information is passed on to our expert chemists who custom-design drugs for each of our patients. Our sophisticated algorithms offer a strong foundation to the process of custom-building medications.

In a hospital or medical center setting, custom-building medication is not a viable option. In general, doctors order medications, mix them into a solution, and deliver it as standard regimen, based on the NCCN (National Comprehensive Cancer Network) guidelines. Envita goes way beyond this standard regimen, to custom build and design medications based on patient markers, thus greatly increasing combinations which have better chances of working effectively on their individual actionable targets. This personalized drug design method gives our patients a better chance to heal holistically.

Types of Drugs

We use a combination of FDA approved drugs, repurposed drugs, and custom compounded adjuvants, to treat the cancer at its core. Some of these drugs are administered intravenously or orally, while others are deployed through proprietary interventional radiology procedures, which are minimally invasive techniques to directly target the tumor(s). Our expert team including oncologists and interventional radiologists decide on the mode of precision deployment for these customized medications, to maximize their benefits.

FDA Approved Drugs
Optimized for your cancer mutations.
Repurposed Drugs
Off-label use of approved medications.
Custom Compounded Adjuvants
Genetically typed for each patient.

At Envita, we understand that all patients with the same type and stage of tumor don’t respond similarly to the same medications, because each patient’s genetics varies from the other. Our advanced and in-depth genomic analysis of each patient helps us identify the FDA approved drugs and their specific dosage, suitable for optimizing treatment efficacy in each individual patient.

FDA approval

This process of precision oncology takes the guesswork out of cancer treatment, as it identifies the drugs which havethe best chances of treating your disease. Even these FDA approved drugs are customized to a certain extent because we adjust the dosing to suit each patient’s individual biomarker and pharmacogenetic information which is the way their body metabolizes the medicines. Not everyone metabolizes at the same rate, so adjusting the dosage is crucial to reduce chances of toxicity while killing the cancer. Also, key combinations minimize drug resistance and enhance the patient’s energy and quality of life throughout the treatment process.

Even with the FDA fast track approval process for clinical trials in oncology, many targets do not yet have approved drugs. Lack of appropriate drugs makes many patients fail standard care, especially in late stage and complex cancers. The ability to custom-develop drugs for actionable targets, is one of the key hallmarks of precision oncology. However, most patients do not even get access to precision oncology in standard care, and even if they do, it is a watered-down form compared to Envita.

To boost our patients’ holistic recovery and empower their immune system for better tackling the cancer, we work to reduce toxicities caused by anti-cancer medications. Increased toxicity leads to a weakened immune system, which further impacts your body’s ability to fight cancer relapse.

To minimize the side-effects of a weakened immune system during cancer treatment, we adjust the dosage of every medicine for each patient’s specific metabolic rate which forms a strategic aspect of comprehensive cancer care. Our detailed algorithms, developed over 20 years of clinical practice, give us an in-depth understanding of the key relationships between medications and integrative agents, which may be the best optimal combinations for our patients based on their testing.

Precision Dosage Regulation

To minimize the side-effects of a weakened immune system during cancer treatment, we adjust the dosage of every medicine for each patient’s specific metabolic rate which forms a strategic aspect of comprehensive cancer care.

Repurposed Drug

Repurposed drugs are FDA approved drugs which are used to treat a certain condition for which it is not labeled or marketed. Off-label use of approved medications is known as repurposed drugs. For example, our extensive genetic testing may show that an FDA approved drug for treating breast cancer will be effective in treating a particular patient’s ovarian cancer, if this is discovered we go ahead and use the repurposed drug for treating the patient because our ultra-analytes liquid biopsy has determined its efficacy.

Off-label use of drugs is common practice for doctors in every discipline, but pharmaceutical companies are not allowed to market their drugs for any other condition, except for those approved by the FDA. At Envita, our doctors prescribe off-label use of certain drugs only when a patient’s genetic and metabolic hallmarks of testing reveals that their specific mutations and cancer drivers could be tackled by those drugs, while protecting their healthy cells.

Custom Compounded Adjuvants

Adjuvants are add-on or supportive medications which play an important role in enhancing the efficacy of your treatment. They comprise advanced phytotherapeutic medications, which are derived from natural agents like extracts of plants andherbs. Several studies have shown how natural agents can help in cancer prevention and treatment,so we utilize the latest findings from several published studies, including our own publications, to custom compound adjuvants especially targeted for each patient’s specific cancer biomarkers. These biomarkers include many analytes and combinations that are reviewed for each patient to maximize benefits of cancer treatment and help restore health.*

Custom-compounding medicines play an important role on many levels in patient care. Over the years, we have seen exceptional results with combinations that use integrative targets to help patients optimize response to care. It is important to know that some of the best pharmaceutical medications came from plants or derivatives. Often, these agents can be a critical support while minimizing toxicity and increasing mechanisms of tumor kill.
