Ohio Lyme Patient Pins Her Hopes on Envita Medical Centers

She has over 25 diagnoses and has undergone more than 60 treatments in the past 14 years, but nothing has helped Amanda Pirooz, a Lyme disease patient. “Without me getting to Envita, it's a death sentence. My goal is just to get to Envita to get my life back because I haven't really lived since 2019,” said Pirooz in her interview with 13abc in Toledo, Ohio.
Pirooz feels compelled to travel far from home to seek care at Envita Medical Centers, a Center of Excellence for Lyme disease treatment located in Scottsdale, Arizona. This 44-year-old has been confined to a wheelchair and faces several debilitating symptoms due to her Lyme disease, autoimmune disorders, gastrointestinal issues, and other medical complications.
At Envita Medical Centers, our team of specially trained, Lyme-literate doctors has treated many late-stage Lyme patients, like Amanda, who were left feeling helpless despite seeking care from multiple specialists at various facilities. Due to the varied symptoms of Lyme disease, this tick-borne infection is often difficult to diagnose and treat. Without timely treatment, Lyme disease may affect the patient's immune system, leading to a series of co-infections and secondary infections that derail the patient's life. “I just want to raise Lyme awareness and autoimmune awareness for everybody else who's suffering not just me. I know that I'm not the only one out there and we need to raise awareness for Lyme,” Pirooz added.
The Envita team has been able to help many patients like Pirooz over the past 25 years, and Pirooz has been fortunate to have her community supporting her in her final attempt at recovering holistically.
