Amelia had been sick for so long she had lost hope of ever feeling normal again. When she first came to Envita Medical Center Amelia was highly skeptical anything could help her. Amelia's Lyme story started when she was only five years old. At that young age she was bitten by a tick and experienced no noticeable symptoms besides swelling on the back of her neck; however, from then on things would only get worse for Amelia and her family. For more than half her life she struggled with Lyme and its debilitating symptoms before coming to Envita. This brave young lady was plagued by sickness and migraines before she even finished her first year of school and, because of a depleted immune system, she was constantly getting sick. She even had to undergo surgery to relieve a severe sinus infection. Amelia's health got even worse after she contracted mono, her joint pain got so bad that she could no longer attend school. Amelia was being robbed of her young life. Her joint pain progressed to the point where she could no longer walk on her own; she was unable to live and have fun as any normal child should.

At this time, doctors began to suspect that Amelia may have Lyme disease, but they were unable to detect the bacteria and their treatments were ineffective against her advanced stage of the disease. Luckily her father was able to find Envita Medical Center and, though they were skeptical at first, Envita's sincerity and passion won the family over and began Amelia's path to recovery. It was not long before Amelia was progressing, able to walk to the bathroom on her own for the first time in months after only one treatment, and she started to believe a better life was on the horizon. She had been struggling with brain fog, tremors, joint pain, migraines, nausea, depression, mood swings and more for years. Her health was rapidly declining in the months before coming to Envita. Now Amelia has completed Envita's treatment and she feels like a new person, as she says, her symptoms are all but gone. What little symptoms remain are getting better every day and her advice to other patients suffering from Lyme disease is “this place if anywhere, is the place to be”.

Amelia is looking forward to returning home and going back to school and her friends. She is grateful for the connections she made while at Envita. She felt that the patients where all truly “in it together” and was appreciative for their support and kindness. Amelia said that the staff and doctors at Envita where compassionate and avid, in her words “there was never a time I did not feel cared for”. Amelia understands that others may be skeptical of Envita. She says that she was skeptical too, that it all seems to good to be true, but she is so thankful that she chose to come to Envita Medical Center. Her results speak for themselves; it was not long ago that Amelia was scared and depressed that she would never escape her pain. Now Amelia is confident that she can live a full and happy life, she aspires to become an aerospace engineer and looks forward to returning to aerial dance. Her future is bright and Envita is honored to have had the privilege to help such a wonderful person.
