Late-stage colon cancer can be difficult to treat successfully with standardized treatments. Like so many other late-stage cancer patients, Dan's conventional treatment - while seemingly successful at first - did not provide lasting results and his colon cancer returned in a more aggressive form. At that point, Dan knew that he needed a more personalized treatment protocol, one that was tailored towards his specific needs and his unique colorectal cancer expression. Colon cancer is one of the most common cancers in the world, yet targeted and personalized precision treatment can be hard to come by. Fortunately for Dan, he found Envita Medical Centers.

Envita is an integrative Center of Excellence in the practice of precision medicine for late-stage and refractory-to-care cancer. For the last two decades, Envita's focus has been on treating the most progressive and resistant forms of cancer by utilizing the latest in medical advancements. Envita's cutting-edge oncology modalities offered Dan a level of personalized colon cancer treatment he didn't know existed. Together, Dan and his physician, Dr. Poteet, created a customized cancer treatment plan designed specifically for Dan and his cancer presentation.

Envita used advanced genomic testing to map Dan's unique cancer mutations and devised a comprehensive protocol to build his personalized treatments. Dan came to realize that every case of cancer is as unique as a person's fingerprint. This unique nature is why Envita's proprietary low-dose chemotherapies and adjuvant immunotherapies are genetically targeted to each patient's specific cancer presentation. In Dan's opinion, it is these dedicated IV based protocols and genetically personalized therapies that are the reason he is alive today.

One particular treatment modality that helped Dan overcome his diagnosis was GTFC™, or Genetically Targeted Fractionated Chemotherapy. GTFC™ is one of the many advanced proprietary treatments used by Envita physicians. Through the use of advanced genetic testing, GTFC™ genetically targets a patient's specific cancer biomarkers to identify potential targets for treatment, whether those treatments are chemotherapeutic drugs or natural agents. Through the use metronomic or micro-dosing, Envita is able to deliver multiple chemotherapeutic and cancer adjunctive agents to attack the caner from multiple angles at the same time. Because Envita isn't constrained to maximum therapeutic dosing of chemotherapy agents, multiple drugs can be used while still potentially reducing the risk of extreme side-effects that are seen in the standardized chemotherapy model. GTFC™ provides Envita's patients with a treatment strategy designed to potentially maximize effectiveness while minimizing the damage standardized chemotherapy may have.

Dan's GTFC™, advanced immunotherapies, and adjunctive care were personalized to attack his specific cancer biomarkers. Dan is so grateful to Dr. Poteet, his Patient Care Coordinator Dania, and all the staff at Envita. Dan went as far as calling them "a godsend.” The loving and supportive environment Envita fosters has bonded Dan to the staff and patients, creating relationships that he says will "last a lifetime.” Dan felt the joy of not only walking out of Envita cancer-free himself, but also getting to see other patients find remission too.

Under Envita's care, Dan reached remission from his stage four colon cancer, and now he has a new outlook for a future with his loving family. He could not be more excited.
